Case details: SmartEye
Client Info
A photovoltaic power station in Guangdong
Basic Information:75 MW, 448 inverters, more than 100,000 PV panels, covering an area of 1,500 acres, 6 staff members in the station, including 1 station manager and 5 O&M personnel.

Basic Project Information

Client Pain Points
1、The number of PV panels is huge, and some PV panel failures affect the overall power generation, but the manual inspection workload is huge and difficult to bear.
2、Faulty PV panels are prone to fire accidents. Pieces of PV panels are connected to each other, and once they catch fire, they will keep burning, which is a huge safety hazard.
3、The O&M of PV stations is a lot of work and manpower is tight.

Use Of The Project
1、Take the client's PV station, Zone A, as an example After the SmartEye drone takes visible and infrared photos of the PV panels, the intelligent system automatically analyzes the photos to generate inspection results, and a total of several abnormalities such as hot spots, tree shading, and bird droppings are detected, and the exact location of each abnormal PV panel can be accurately pinpointed.

Project Objectives
1、Maximizing the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic power plants and ensuring the normal operation of equipment such as solar panels and inverters
2、Timely detection of damaged or aged equipment, reducing downtime, and ensuring the stability and reliability of photovoltaic power plants
3、Collect, monitor, and analyze operational data of photovoltaic power plants, understand equipment performance and power generation situation
4、Accurately locating fault points to improve operational efficiency
Typical Faults

Case 1
The system shows that the 8th PV panel from the left in the lower row of the PV branch number 'O8-2' has a hot spot. The station manager arrived at the scene to check according to the positioning shown by the system and finds that the surface of the PV panel does not have any stains, and walks to the bottom of the PV panel to find that a battery panel has been burned off. The positioning and result of the inspection is accurate.

Case 2
The system shows that the 4th PV panel from the left in the lower row of the PV branch number 'O8-4', and the station manager arrived at the site and found that there were branches on the PV panel, and cleaned it up.
Project Effects
SmartEye
After inspection, PV hot spots, bird droppings and other problems were basically found, and after on-site review and treatment, power generation was conservatively estimated to be increased by more than 2%, and the PV station revenue was increased by 1.5+ million'Fault localization is very accurate, O&M personnel can directly and accurately find the faulty PV panels, which is very time-saving and labor-saving, and the O&M efficiency is improved by at least 90%.''Inspection efficiency is very high, usually the workload of manual inspection for 2 weeks, SmartEye completed in 2 hours.'
